Possible compications during twin pregnancy
Expecting twins to grow your family is an emotional experience.
There is a low
chance of conceiving twins naturally, estimated to be 1 of 250 pregnancies. It
is more common to expect twins if you had fertility treatment, especially if
you had an IVF transfer of two or more embryos. In that case, you would be
prepared to hear two heartbeat sounds during the ultrasound. While discovering
a natural twin’s pregnancy may be a surprising and sometimes stressful
experience.
The symptoms of
multiple pregnancies are similar to a single fetus pregnancy; missed period,
nausea, headache, frequent urination, and sensitive breasts. Even if your
pregnancy symptoms are more intense, they could be signs but not a confirmation
of twin pregnancy. The twin’s pregnancy
may be confirmed by prenatal ultrasound, not earlier than your 6th
pregnancy week.
However, the
twins’ pregnancy may be slightly complicated, so prenatal checkups occur more
frequently.
Possible
complications associated with a twin pregnancy.
· High
blood pressure.
· Gestational
diabetes.
· Anemia.
· Placental
abruption.
· Polyhydramnios.
· Premature
Labor.
I
had gestational diabetes discovered in the middle of my second trimester. My
health providers strictly monitored it through a connected diabetes tracker. I changed my
diet and had to be more active to manage it. For me, it disappears after
delivery, but if it is not controlled, you can keep it after delivery.
Spotting is more
common during twin pregnancies.
Spotting during
the first trimester could be undergoing miscarriage. If you are spotting, do
not worry. It is not necessary Singh of miscarriage. I had spotting during the first
trimester of twin pregnancy. And in this case, there wasn’t anything wrong with
my baby.
Although, it does not mean that you have to ignore any spotting or pain during your pregnancy. I recommend that you contact your healthcare provider immediately. If they cannot provide an ultrasound check, you can use private clinic services to ensure everything goes well.
